Every number in this report represents a person. A child who found belonging. A family that found stability. A community that grew stronger together.
We are thrilled to share our 2025 Impact Report — a reflection of what happens when a community shows up for one another, year after year.
At Muslim Community Association (MCA), our mission has always been about more than programs and services. It’s about building a community where every person — regardless of age, background, or circumstance — feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. This past year, that mission came to life across every corner of what we do.
Faith & Community Programming
MCA’s faith programming continued to grow in depth and reach. We partnered with Legacies to host 18 Halaqas focused on engaging college-age and young professional Muslims, drawing between 25 and 40 attendees per session. We also partnered with Thabaat for two collaborative sessions serving working professionals and late-college-age community members.
Our Eid celebrations brought thousands of community members together — Eid al-Fitr at Eastern Michigan University and Eid al-Adha at Rolling Hills Metro Park — filling our hearts with the joy of worship shared together.
Education Partnership Fund
In 2025, MCA proudly launched the Education Partnership Fund in collaboration with A Continuous Charity. This newly established fund provides interest-free loans to MCA students pursuing college and professional school — removing financial barriers so our community’s young people can reach their full potential. In its first year, the fund raised $40,000 and distributed $20,000 directly to MCA students. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making this program a reality.
Quran Academy & Youth Education
The MCA Quran Academy enrolled 65 students across Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions, helping them learn to read and memorize the Holy Quran with excellence. The highlight of the year was our 1st Annual Ramadan Quran Competition for children, which drew 80+ young participants — a beautiful celebration of dedication and love for the Quran.
The Halimah Project
Our partnership with the University of Michigan Chapter of the Halimah Project continued to make a meaningful difference. This weekly mentorship program, which serves children from refugee and underprivileged families in Washtenaw County, grew to support 70 participants — including mentors, mentees, committee members, and board members — up from 38 when it began. In 2025, the program held 20 mentor/mentee sessions across Winter and Fall.
Outreach
MCA’s outreach efforts reached far beyond our walls this year. We distributed approximately 1,500 copies of the Quran through Da’wah tables at UM Central Campus, and at the Ann Arbor Art Fair, 20+ volunteers from our community helped distribute 1,000 copies of the Quran. We also launched a new weekly Da’wah table at Eastern Michigan University and made Qurans available at local Muslim businesses across Washtenaw County.
Sports & Youth Activities
MCA’s youth sports programming gave young community members spaces to connect, compete, and grow. The MISA Youth Basketball program brought together 30 kids from the MCA community — middle schoolers and high schoolers — while our Taekwondo and Judo programs offered weekly sessions every Tuesday and Thursday.
Community Service
Our commitment to serving Washtenaw County and beyond remained strong. We partnered with Mercy-USA for 4 clothing and food packaging events throughout the year, including the Winter Supply Drive and the Lanterns for Literacy Packaging Event.
Thank You
None of this happens without you. To our donors, volunteers, staff, teachers, board members, and community members — thank you. You are the reason MCA exists, and you are the reason it thrives.
