About MCA
MCA was founded in 1972 by a group of dedicated Muslims for the specific purpose of practicing, propagating and preserving Islam and Islamic heritage and to serve the needs of Muslims, be they, religious, social, cultural or educational.
The Center is a permanent Waqf for Ahl-u-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah.
- To unite the Muslims of Ann Arbor and vicinity according to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah as understood by Ahl-u-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah.
- To represent and serve the interests of the Muslims of Ann Arbor and vicinity.
- To propagate and disseminate Islam and Islamic heritage according to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah as understood by Ahl-u-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah.
- To present Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims and to promote friendly relations and understanding between them.
- To carry out religious, social, cultural or educational activities.
- To develop service institutions to serve Islam and Muslims in this area.
Mission
Anchoring Islamic identity through education, community, service, and sustainability. Founded in 1972, MCA is dedicated to practicing, preserving, and promoting Islam while serving the religious, social, cultural, and educational needs of Muslims in Ann Arbor and the greater Washtenaw County area.
Prayer and Worship Services
Daily congregational prayers, including Jummah and Eid, provide a welcoming space for worship, reflection, and community connection.
Funeral Service
Islamic burial and Janazah services, with assistance in securing burial plots at the Islamic Garden in Arborcrest Memorial Park.
Wedding Service
Pre-marital counseling and marriage ceremonies are available.
