Marriage Requirements for Legal and Islamic Validation
At MCA, we ensure that all Nikah ceremonies fulfill both legal and Islamic requirements. Our Imam, a registered marriage officiant, oversees the process to guarantee compliance with religious and civil standards. The following conditions must be met:
1. Guardian (Wali) – A close family member of the bride (e.g., father, uncle, or brother).
2. Two Muslim Male Witnesses – Witnesses must be practicing Muslim men.
3. Dowry (Mahr) – The agreed-upon bridal gift or financial amount.
4. Marriage Agreement (Katb el-Kitab) – The couple will recite the marriage agreement under the officiant’s supervision.
5. Marriage License – Must be obtained from city hall at least 48 hours before Katb el-Kitab.
6. Processing Fees – A fee of $500 – This covers all essential legal and Islamic procedures needed to ensure your marriage is fully honored, protected, and officially recognized. It includes the careful preparation and verification of documents, coordination of court registration, and issuance of certified records—providing you with the assurance that your Nikah is documented with the highest level of care, respect, and professionalism.
7. Identification Documents – Copies of IDs are required for the bride, groom, guardian, and witnesses.
8. Dowry Confirmation – The specified dowry amount must be provided for inclusion in the Islamic marriage certificate.
9. Ceremony Date & Time – The couple must confirm the exact details of the event.
10. Marriage Location – The address must be provided for official records.
Upon completion, an official sealed Islamic marriage certificate, along with a court-issued legal marriage certificate, will be issued.
