Shihan grew up on the northeast side of Ann Arbor and has been coming to MCA since he was 6 years old. After completing his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan, he then moved to Connecticut for nine years where he completed his medical degree and doctorate in engineering from Yale University. Shihan moved back to Ann Arbor in 2019 to complete medical residency and recently joined the faculty of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan. He and his wife, Fatima, have two children and enjoy traveling to warm places during the Michigan winter, drinking bubble tea, and are big tennis fans.
